
What is Cotswold Jobs?

So who are we? What are we?
The thing about online businesses, is they pop up everywhere. In the olden days, if you wanted to find a job, you were limited to newspapers, the job centre, shop windows or the good old fashioned “gis a job mister”.
We are an online business. A job business that offers employers and employees the chance to connect without using intermediaries. Now before my little recruitment friends start getting defensively excited, recruitment consultants/agencies or whatever they wish to be called have their place. But not every job needs one.
As an employer who regularly needed to recruit staff, I found it frustrating that some of the more basic jobs ended up having countless CV’s from candidates who had no idea that using an agency might just damage their chances.

But why is that, I hear you ask?
Think about your generic shop assistant role, like fruit and veg. If you had two candidates that equally had similar skill sets, but one of them attracted agency fees, who might you pick?
Now equally, if the “agent” candidate was clearly better, you would bite the bullet and pay up.
But what if the agent wasn’t needed and both candidates applied direct? Yes you have time to CV sift and interview etc etc…. but for these types of positions, how much of this do agents actually do?
Anyway, this isn’t a blog about agencies. This is supposed to introduce Cotswold Jobs, a job board designed for the Cotswolds, one of the UK’s most beautiful places.
We provide an easy to use platform that allows employers to post job adverts for potential candidates to view. Applying for a role is easy, the link allows the applicant to email the employer directly. Then it is over to you Mr or Mrs employer, to take it from there.
The aim of Cotswold Jobs is to become the preeminent job board in the Cotswolds within five years. We are new, we have some stiff competition. We are also small, local and passionate about linking employers and employees directly.
